Wominjeka”

Wominjeka (n.): a Boonwurrung & Woiwurrung word from the Kulin Nations that mindfully invites you: “Welcome, come with purpose”

Hi, I’m Brad Stolz-Grobusch (he/him) and I live, work, meet, and share stories in Naarm, which is the traditional Kulin Nations name for Melbourne. In Australia, I’m registered as a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist and am a Board-approved Supervisor. I’m also a Registered Nurse, a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse, and a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician. Plus, I’m also a Certified Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Clinician with the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification™ (DBT-LBC™) and am Geek Therapy® Certified. Working primarily as a manager in Australia’s largest private mental health hospital, I work in private practice in the inner southeastern suburbs of Melbourne and offer psychological therapy, Autism/ADHD assessments, clinical supervision, and leadership/executive coaching.

The type of psychotherapy and counselling that I offer takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach and tends to explore and encourage various behavioural and/or cognitive strategies, which are balanced with a mindfulness-based approach and a dialectical lens. Compassionate reflection and validation throughout therapy aims to provide you with a greater understanding of yourself and others. My goal is to develop a trusting and caring professional relationship with you and strike a healthy balance between accepting you just as you are and supporting you to grow and consider healthy changes. Psychotherapy and counselling can explore areas such as understanding your thoughts and/or circumstances, navigating and appreciating emotional feelings, releasing the weight of the past, identifying helpful patterns of behaviour, and fostering meaningful connections with life and relationships in the present moment.

There’s further information about the types of therapy I offer on the CBT & PSYCHOTHERAPY or DBT & RADICALLY OPEN DBT webpages. Also, if you or a loved one have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder there is information on the BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER webpage. Additionally, if you are concerned that you or a loved one may have an eating disorder or struggle with their appearance there is information on the EATING DISORDERS & BODY DYSMORPHIA webpage. Information about Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Neurodiversity is on the AUTISM, ADHD & NEURODIVERSITY webpage. More details about Clinical Psychological Assessments for Autism, ADHD and/or other Diagnostic Clarification that I provide can be found on the CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS webpage.

If you are considering counselling and psychotherapy, a psychological assessment, clinical supervision, or professional/executive coaching, I want to encourage you to reach out. There’s further information about my fees on the MY FEES & SERVICES webpage. To enquire or make an appointment, please get in touch with me using this CONTACT FORM. Referrals can be faxed to 03 8080 6421. Depending on my availability, I aim to get back to you within a week to follow up and discuss questions or my availability for an initial consultation. After you get in touch with me, I can email you registration and consent forms to complete and arrange to make our first appointment. I am happy to discuss referrals with doctors and clinicians; however, I also like to connect directly with patients when making the first appointment to determine if I can provide the help that they need.
